Jewelry from Paper?

Recycled Paper Bead Necklace | Recycled Crafts | Scoop.it
Do you know that this beautiful necklace is made from?
... it's made from recycled paper! that's amazing isn't it? these kind of necklaces are made by women in Uganda. They roll glossy paper from old used magazines to make each bead, then they varnish the beads, and turn them into this astonishing jewelry. The women who make these are part of a club called the "Kind Mothers Project" which is an association initiated by eight Ugandan mothers who felt touched by the plight of children living under difficult conditions in their country. They used this as a contribution to help improve the situation and the lives of these unfortunate children. The money raised goes towards the education of those children.

This indeed touches my heart, but it also amazes me that they make these necklaces with paper! and that they are doing it for a great reason, to help children with difficult conditions. Such a great thing can come from being generous. Though this project wouldn't be easy for just anyone to make and not to mention it would probably be very time consuming, it reflects those of the Kind Mothers Project and many other cultures that happen to make this jewelry. This jewelry is truly amazing and can be related to World Geography because it is made in Uganda and is a part of their culture, and it can also be related to science because its all recycled and the way they process it to make it into jewelry.
I hope you were inspired and as astonished as i was about this topic and I hope you enjoyed my blog this week!

DIY jewelry

Have you ever made your own jewelry? If not, you should definitely take it in to consideration. Making your own jewelry will save you money and you can customize it the way you want. It is great for birthday gifts, holiday gifts or even just to be nice and make it for someone. They could be easy or hard projects or they could either take up a lot of your time or only 5 minutes.
These DIY projects can be related to science because the things you use to make your jewelry can be recycled materials which can make your jewelry unique and personalized. It also can be related to math because in order to make the jewelry you must make measurements to make sure it fits right. You can make bracelets, earrings, and necklaces and i think it is a great idea because no one else could have the same jewelry as you. I hope I have inspired you to make your own jewelry with your own taste and thank you for reading my blog I hoped that you enjoyed it!

Pinterest can help your career?

Did you know pinterest can help a career? It could help educators the most because they can use it for learning activities in class to make learning not so boring!  It can be used to communicate, educate, and provides things that teachers can use for all kinds of different programs, and could be useful with other careers also.

Do you agree that Pinterest could help educators teach there classes in a better way and that because it being liked to teaching it could help them? Would you like to use it if you were a teacher? I know i would because it could help the students in a big way too. As you can see it can help teachers career because for me as a student i would love my teachers to use ideas from pinterest to create learning activities in class and some teachers do already use pinterest as a reference site for some type of activity or something they might like to do. In my opinion i think it can also give any ones mind a more creative side and with an open mind and those two things can help so much with many things.
Now whats your opinion?

In the article, "Ebola Doctor Shortage Eases as Volunteers Step Forward" it talks about how there aren't enough volunteers to help build hospitals and help out with the Ebola patients. They are having a hard time recruiting people to come over to south africa and helping out. They have had some people volunteer to help but they need more, atleast 400 staff for each 100-bed hospital. They also need people to help build the 100-bed hospitals because there aren't enough now to treat all the patients with Ebola which is causing more and more deaths. There are about 600 cases recorded each week and every 3 weeks it doubles. There are more people volunteering but they still need a lot more with the gap that is being experienced between people volunteering.
This can obviously be connected to science because workers are in South Africa researching this disease and trying to help people with Ebola as much as possible. It can also be connected to geography because of the study of how its spreading and diffusing into other places, and it's dealing with people coming from all over the world to help out in South Africa with the Ebola virus.
